More dumb questions...
Hi all,
Please excuse what are probably dumb newbie questions! I've been playing the demo for a couple of days now, and I'm really enjoying it and I can't wait to get the full version! However, there are a few things I'm a bit confused about.
Firstly, any ideas how I get out of the New York system? On the Microsoft website, it said the Demo included the whole Liberty sector, but so far I haven't been able to get to anywhere else. I've found some of the jump gates to other systems, but I can't use them.
Secondly, how do I level up/get tougher? I'm still level one, and I'm in a Rhino merchant ship, trying to earn some money by transporting goods. Whenever the trade lane gets disrupted, I get slaughtered if I try to fight. Usually I just run for it. There seems to be a big disparity in toughness of opponents (mainly Liberty Rogues?). Sometimes I can take out 3 on my own, but sometimes they seem to have tougher weapons, and my shields will be down within the first 5 seconds, and, well, let's just say it's not pretty!
Thirdly, I've read of people keeping fairly neutral faction, so that they don't get attacked all the time. How do I do this? The only missions I get offered are to kill more Liberty Rogues or Junkers (both of whom I already have really bad faction with). I'm assuming I wouldn't be able to dock with any kind of pirate base, even if I could reach one before my ship was blown apart. I've also noticed that the bounty hunters, and Kageira (sp?) won't talk to me, although my faction with them is neutral.
Fourthly, I'll be getting the full version any day now. Any suggestions for where I can play the online game?
