Ship Choices

Am I the only person who went through the SP Campaign with the Starflier, then the Defender, and finally, the Anubis? I just got myself a Sabre yesterday. Those Justice Mark 3's get weak after awhile.

Check out my post 'Ship Sequence' in spoilers, go back 10 days.

You beat the game in a Defender ? Wow, I guess this gives you ultimate bragging rights. I found it pretty difficult in a Dagger even though the Dagger moves better than the Defender and can mount a class 4 shield; it was actually easier in the Patriot - despite the class 3 shield - because it is the most agile fighter in the game. I always thought Starflier might be possible as it is only slightly worse than the Patriot (my Starflier is still sitting in Kyoto, though; died 4 times at Tekagi's Arch from missile overdose). But the Defender ... Extremely difficult.

I used Scorpions/Adv. Scorpions on Patriot and Starflier, though. Lots more bang than the Justice thingies.

I tried to beat in in the defender, but got tired of it after a while and just gave up. I'm just too lazy to try again

I'm sure its not possible to get the Eagle etc ships in SP. You need to be lvl30 or something...

Anubis all the way nothing else it's the only perfect mix between Very heavy fighter and a freighter i make diamond runs regulary and noone dares attak me because of my heavy weaponary and armour.

Diamond runs from Vogtland to New Tokyo?

Post Fri Jun 20, 2003 12:34 pm

my sequence is :

starflyer->cavalier->hawk->anubis

gus

Post Fri Jun 20, 2003 2:40 pm

Huh. I did it:

Starflier-Bloodhound-Crusader-Hawk-Anubis.

On my first run it was

Starflier-Bloodhound-Defender-Cavalier-Hammerhead-Anubis

But you beat it in a PATRIOT!?

Or hey, did you then change into an Anubis?

But man, Tekagi's arch and that Experimental Shipyard must have been tough.

I just sold my Sabre for a Dromedary. I am going to do some trading to get my 10 000 000 for the White Star. Going to take awhile.

Post Fri Jun 20, 2003 3:45 pm

Methinks I am going to go back and try to beat the game in a Starflier. This is going to be difficult.

Post Fri Jun 20, 2003 5:23 pm

I've yet to play the single player game. Don't know that I ever will. As for ship choices, I could never finish the game in a Liberty ship, or the Starflier, for that matter. I don't like the looks of any of them. If we're just looking for the weakest ship we might enjoy sticking with through an entire campaign, I could probably make do with a Dagger, Legionaire, or Pirahna. Not saying I'd survive the campaign, but I'd be willing to stick with one of those ships for an extended period without complaint. In the non-fighter catagory, I could also make due with a Rhino or Mule.
