End of Singleplayer game

I am a hero! lol ive activated the magic jump hole of the alien ancient race and all the nomad are dead, aparently, but then orilion makes that very exciting offer of being the eyes and hears of the order in liberty, and then i am lvl 17
has the story ended? i mean cant we comply with orilions offer? they say a certain worth is needed for next lvl but everytime i get money the limit lowers and my worth increases(the worth prequesite its 50000 for example my worth is 20000and i wind 10000 my worth becomes 30000 and the prequisite becomes 40000) and i have gone beyond the worth prequisite and i only advanced lvl and the worth prequisite keeps doing the same thing.
Does the story end here? did the artifact make my worth prequisite go boom? lol Orilions offer is really tempting

After the campaign ends the display of the level-up requirement changes. During the campaign it is the net worth required to level up, afterwards is the difference in net worth until the next level-up. So the requirement value shown will get smaller and smaller until you jump a level. If you are a good trader then you can jump several levels at once.

Actually I don’t think that is correct. When I went through the single player the first time I was a millionaire by level 7. I still had to earn 100k and change for the next level. I may have the levels screwed up a bit but it was around level 7 or 8. The bottom line is during the story line missions the next level requirement was shown as how much more I needed, not net worth.

the whole ending with orillion's offer and juni and all that crap is to just leave a nice big open ending leaving a perfect trail for Freelancer 2 or some kind of expansion pack.

I completed the SP one time with around $450,000. I was instantly promoted to level 23.

during the campaign, you your money affectsonly the exact next level, then you need to complete missions to level up, but when the campaign is complete, there are no longer any missions requirements, so you are not "paused" on the level up status, and thus can level several levels at once as it will automatically from that point on raise you to the level your current worth is in.
