If you hang around a while another ship might dock and you can fly out.

Or you might try shooting missles and such until you blast your way out (just kidding won't work really).

Or if you have not saved game with F1 then you will have to kill yourself by hitting cruise engines or really fireing weapons and blowing yourself up and then auto save will reload you wherever your last base/planet save was.

Otherwise simply hit F1 and load game from last save if you have one.

I Did the same thing accidentally when I was zooming into a dock at cruise speed and missed the Dock key going 300. I flew right into the open bay door boy was I supprised. I was trapped there and after a little while of waiting for another ship to dock, I just gave up and reloaded a saved game and vowed not to be in such a hurry again. Good luck!

Yeah luckily I was just killing xenos for faction and the base in question was duray, so my last save was my departure from pueblo.

It's rather easy to get out of, from my own experience...

Once, as an experiment, I hit the dock key for the station I was trapped in...lo and behold, it squirted me right out through the solid metal side of the bay. Took my shields out doing it, but the pesky doors sure didn't get in the way.

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

That would probably work if you weren't hostile to the base you are trapped in as you can not dock with hostile bases the game won't let you.

Thanks for the tip though I will file for stupid reference later (IE: when you do something stupid in the game and need a way out).

I have done this many a time, funny, i wait inside here and when it opens blast the ships coming in to dock :p, to get out i try clicking the station and docking, you lose some shield strengh but the bay doors open again

i was trying to ram my frined on freelancer heven (server) he just happend to be dockign atthat time, i missed him and went full bore into the station dock, the suprise made me cut my engins and thats when he docked and the doors closed

little Fer wouldent let me out!
