Things that would bring out games like Freelancer to life by

Hello is there anyone who know's if there will be in the future an official release of a patch with a [ jump drive engine? .

For iam an Elite & Frontier Fan From yesteryear and i am looking forward to Elite 4
when it is released .

From those good old day's we have had only game's that are like ELITE & FRONTIER

LIKE....

BEYOND THE FRONTIER .

That was alright but lacking thing's like / job board / larger system's / multiplayer /

NOW

FREELANCER.....
This game doe's lack alot of thing's that could have been added to this game

more system's / race's / more multiplayer position's as in.. more player start option's like

Player's start in base's but with not a ship maybe no money , rather he or she would have to advertise on the [ JOB BOARD for a job
and then an other player hire's him from job board give's him a position on his ship as a turret operator etc.
he then get's what ever the other player want's to pay him .

This will allow more player's to be on a ship and this being more fun .....
There are lot's of thing's that could have been on this game we have just now but the problem is that they dont look at the game's that was out before and try to ADD to the game play rather take away , they just dont make the effort to bring more thing's to life in game's these day's.

Dont get me wrong FREELANCER IS A VERY NICE GAME STUNNINGLY AWESOME GRAPHIC'S
But sadly i have been a gamer of these type's of game's for 20 year's or so..
and i have seen nearly every sort of game pass by and in the last 11year's this is a game that come's closer still to the old ELITE & FRONTIER
But lacking more important thing for game play like ..

The good old [ JUMP - DRIVE .
And [ FUEL
And [ SHIP PART'S / DOCKING COMPUTER / SCANNER / RADAR / AND SO ON
I know these are on the ship to begin with but that is taking away again good old game play..

game's are for lasting so why give us these thing's the game would last longer if we work for them..

well i could go on all night but i have work to goto so i just hope there might be even a patch that include's a [ JUMP - DRIVE Even...

ship parts, rebalance mod 1.4.

ship fuel? WHY in gods name do you want to add fuel?

If you have played ELITE OR FRONTIER
You would then onder stand the game play just by fule and a jump drive would add
becaue's then you would have to work out your fule and distance to your next system then jump if you have enough fuel

but if you havent played the above game's then you would not know what iam talking about or even miss it.

Hey Osprey,

I agree, (I'm an old Elite, Frontier Elite, and Frontier First Encounters fan) I miss the realism Braben was able to impliment, like the time passage while in hyper space (one of the most dificult things to rectify if you were to impliment similar laws in multiplayer) Distance of systems, the ability to hard land ANYWHERE on the planet, the SCALE of the planet and how the gravity reacts to the other bodies in the system, how slingshot physics were entirely possible.

But most of the realistic attributes, if implimented in multiplayer, would hinder, not help gameplay.

I have thought long and hard on how they may impliment this style in Elite 4, (have you been following the scraps of info? Apparently Frontier Developments, after the most recent E3, are now resuming work on Elite 4, it was post-poned for a while since just after the ps2's release.)

Anyway. A few things that could have easily been added to the gameplay without much effort.

1. The Scale of the planets.
2. Multiple ports for single planets.
3. Manual flight to dock at those ports
4. MB4 Mining Machine ; ) (An Automated mini factory that would mine for you on a moon or planet, you then, after about a month, go back and collect your bounty. Theyu can be stolen by others, they also can be deployed, loaded and re-deployed in different locations)

That's just some.

yup ross i do say that your bringing back old memorie's lol i do miss frontier i havent even sniffed First Encounters ,
but i done very well on frontier i got elite in both imperial & federal
and the main man of the imperial found me and asked if i would be his right hand man and the ship he gave was a pure dream
what a laugh i tell you iam sure you have had it or even heard of it

It was somthing else if for talking sake you had a hit out on some charater maybe in the lav system and let's say he was in space flight and you gave chase and he jumbed let's say to the sol system if you clicked in the hyper cloud you could just suck him right back out of his jump back to the lav system right in front of you and the funny thing is , by the time he has thought that he has made it to the sol system and gave you the slip he is done and dusted by your good shooting or by your large shield lol 1 or the 2 i most say what a ship very large hull as well somthing 2000 or 4000 i cant rember but it left that old panther standeing lol

btw.. iam building a server just now a 2600 AMD ATHLON MP/DUEL SYSTEM IT WILL HAVE AT LEAST 2 GIG OF MEMORY AND VERY FAST HARD DRIVE'S.

The connection is only 1MB CABLE CONNECTION GOING UPTO 2 MG OR MORE SOON BUT POP IN IF YOU LIKE.

The server i have up just now is called - - OSPREY'S SERVER - - 24/7 $1.000.000 START..

OK TAKE CARE THAK'S AGAIN AND THE NEW SERVER WILL BE DEDICATED TO ELITE 4 WHEN IT IS RELEASED..

no you do what ever you like no story

these game's are very basic graph's as to freelancer but the gameplay is great
and the size well to big to recall but here you will find the game's and info on the new elite 4

btw these game are very old and run on dos and would likey not be playable on any pc these day's it would run like lightning lol so i will say to you get an old pc 100mhz system and run it on that with floppy 1 disk lol
