Do you use other sites apart from Lancersreactor.com?

This is a free discussion forum on Freelancer. This is the place to discuss Freelancer issues NOT covered by the other boards!

Do you use other sites apart from Lancersreactor.com?

I'm building a website for a MOD team I'm part of (Osiris' Elite Guard) and it's going to contain all the usual stuff like downloads, shipguides, our files, etc etc. But will I be wasting my time?

How many people acctually use other sites apart frm lancersreactor.com (which is 1st rate guys - kepp it up!)

hmm yes, probably when this site is running at a crawl which can be daily. This forum in particular is bad for speeds. So if a faster site that had the same content and better forum engine I would use another

What sort of contents is it that attracts you to the sites?

What do you expect from a good site? What are it's must-haves? I'd like to know this, because me and the team i'm in have a site that supports Freelancer, including forums and a substantial database, and we want to improve it.

Actually.. I only go to freelancer.portalive.com because I found it before I found this one

Also, I think it looks nicer (its more asthetically pleasing, Black and blue is so 1995 )

It has similar info to this site, but no mods or downloads.

One thing that makes me stay at a site, is its User Friendlyness, like giving links suitable names, and in an organised order. (IE not putting a link to downloads in between Ship info and trade routes).

There's also the GameFaqs message board for Freelancer:

http://cgi.gamefaqs.com/boards/gentopic.asp?board=27335

It's decently active, although has pretty much just question-and-answer exchanges and not a whole lot of other discussion.

Lancer's Reactor is the only Freelancer portal I use. I have tried a number of others (ones that were linked to Microsoft's Freelancer site mainly) but they were simply never as good as this site (most of them seemed to get very little traffic indeed - this place has been the busiest Freelancer site I have seen so far).

While I do not like the software the forums here are based on, the *content* has always been the best; the most useful tips, the most interesting discussions, a good signal to noise ratio, etc.

The other available resources rock too; maps, mods, tools, docs. Anything pertinant and useful is almost certainly already here. Infact, for a long time now, I've not even bothered looking for other freelancer sites. Everything I have ever needed to find out about the game, I was able to find here - quickly and easily.

It's a credit to the people that run this site, and those that use it.

I Agree with Magimix that this is THE site for Freelancer information. The way the forums are laid out is good and much information is available to help even the novice work through the difficulties that may come up.

I myself was never a Modder of any of my games I always used just the patches the mfg. put out but 3rd party was a no no. Now I am adding mods and experimenting with different things all thanks to many kind souls on this site.

In a nut shell why would you want to go anywhere else if this site has it all?

Just some thoughts from the edge of space!

Two languages in one head?.....Nobody can live at that speed.
Why use another site? this one has everything I need for FL and easy navigation.
