Freelancer and Winamp

What the fook do I have to do to get these two to play nice with each other?

When using winamp and FL at the same time the sound from winamp gets really distorted.

WMP works fine.

Suggestions?

Probably a codec your using, mine works fine. I had to get rid of any custom audio codecs after installing FL to fix its sound problems. so if you ever installed any codec packs, uninstall them.

Or just use WMP.
Or Foobar or another audio player.

I havent had any problems with winamp and freelancer....

Be aware of the Live cards, Even with the latest drivers they ain't doing it pretty well, believe me, I own one.

If your mp3 were encoded by Fraunhofer encoder, the distorsion is inevitable.
On the other hand, if you are using Winamp3 beta or any build earlier than #422, that could very well be the problem.
Maybe your comp is on the limit of the requirements for Freelancer, so the mp3 decompression suffers (because Winamp's thread priority is below normal)
