I just started playing the FL campaign, started safe and now my rep with the house police, armed forces and most major corps. is pretty high. heard that the pirates etc, have cooler ships and equip so i wanna switch over, cept 1 thing they shoot me on sight!!

how do i make the switch without everyone hating me at the same time?

To be a pirate, make their enemies pissed off to you so you can be better with the pirates in terms of rep, so the L. Rogues, attack the LSF.

I have played the FL campaign through and I wanted to become to Pirate. Here is my advice:

Go to Detroit Munitions base (in New York system) and start shooting Ageiras and other companies ships. Shoot until your rep for Lane Hackers or Liberty Rogues is about middle. Then start for looking (Hackers or Rogues, dont remember) Buffalo base. It is in the Badlands near Texas and New York jumpholes.
Go there and start making missions for the bases owners.

BTW, what is your ship?

Why bother doing that? Just kill the Zenos there & you will go neutral with Rogues (& everyone!)
Just watch your Zoner rep, don't overdo it.

if you just started, there's really no point of being anything yet cause your rep will change all the time as the campaign continues. i suggest you finish the campaign first.

think i'll put off pirating for a while, universe is too unstable, one minute you're doing jobs for the lsf, next sec their trying to frag you

atomicfireball; I meant wormfed, not you.

Not cheating. Bar guy on Battleship Missouri tells ya rumor of a Navy patrol lost in
the Badlands. If you get neutral with Rogues, you're free to search Badlands at leisure.

Many asteroid/cloud fields hide Wrecks. Sometimes you don't even see them, they just will
appear like magic in your Nav Map. When you're back safe in base, haul out your Map & check
it out. Zoom in clouds & move view around with mouse drag. See any red 'X's? Bingo!

(Oops - The clouds/fields you've flown thru only!)

Man just be bad ass. Real bad. But get a decent ship first - and some cash if you alone, bribes go a long way. Shoot the depot. Hack that trade lane. Hang out at the Junkers base in the begining. You get the idea...
