Hardpoint linking?

This may be a newb question, I haven't been able to find anything on linking different hardpoints to a key. This would be the same sort of thing thats available in the mechwarrior games.
eg, weapons 1-4 on key 1, weapons 5-6 on key 2, etc.
I want a shield killer and most weapons firing at start, then drop the shield killer for the heavier weapons once the targets shields gone down.
Is it possible to do this without manually clicking them in from the ship interface?

Yes, it is possible. In this game it is called weapon grouping.

This is a good discussion of how to do it.
Here is another.

The MW4 firing chains suck eggs. A single trigger and a button to swap chains is much better.

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

This is a good thread to ask this question. How do you know and control where a weapon is mounted? The Humpback ,and other freighters, seems to have turret mounting locations that only provide coverage for certain regions. I want to be sure my best weapons can provide forward and aft coverage, preferrably on the top or bottom so I can pound an opponent through 360 degrees of motion with the longest range weapon covering the aft region.

you got to use the in game picture to see which hardpoints does a gun mounts too. even then, you are not so sure if it can turn around...

Kinda on the same topic...how do I switch a weapon thats installed with one in my cargo?

Post Thu May 29, 2003 11:56 am

To switch weapons go to an equipment dealer (don't sell and rebuy, common mistake). There's a little icon on the icon for each weapon to install and uninstall the weapons.

You mean the sign on the top left of each weapon?

Yes, that's the one.

2 Tizona de Cids and 4 Nomad Energy Blasters and one SkyBlast B Turret is a good config.

Another is to fill up your VHF's slots with all SkyBlast Bs, but it's an energy sucker.
