You probibly would of saved alot of credits if you took the time and read the manual... But the wepon swaping is somthing that alot of people have trouble with.
If I had a nickel for every time someone told me that my idea for melting down coins to make a giant robotic parrot was a bad idea, I would have one kicka$$ giant robotic parrot.

Holiday: You some kinda Commie? Reading the manual.
I did the old sell/buy routine for awhile, until I read a thread one day made by somone asking how to mount captured weapons. I was going to tell him to sell/buy, but before reaching the end of the thread someone told him the correct way. "Cool", I thought.

Bar patron: "You some kind of Nooby?"
Trent: "Uuuh, Huuuh"

Kids nowadays... don't you know that once manuals were cool and fun? Ultima series (more than a manual, it was a universe guide, dictionary, spellbook, entry spaces to write your journal in, etc etc), WC series, Force 21 (had a complete guide and a military doctrine). And need I mention Shogun: Total Wars PDF file?
I agree that game manuals nowadays are laughable. But if you could avoid embarrassments like this, then hey, I think you can afford to do some reading every now and then.

AHAHAHAHAHA
You non-D&D types... Back when I was YOUR age, it wasn't a manual if it didn't have chapters. Back in the good ole days of space sims... Where you used BOOKMARKS... 500 pages in size 6 font, and no pretty pictures either.
Yo young whelps... Freelancer doesn't have a manual.. it has a pamphlet.
