Unknown Sytem... what''s up with that?!

OK now i'm not going to try and spoil the whole thing, but 'someone' is out there. By someone i mean a certain race that doesn't exactly show up on your faction list. After making 2 sweeps of that system, i have yet to find a single stationary object excluding the star. Is there anything out there like hidden wrecks or something? Or is it just one huge radioactive battleground to fight Fluorescent blue ships?
