offical patch?

i would like to know if there is an offical patch either out or coming out. if there is, what will it do? it would be nice if it included trade missions, battleship destroying random missions, and adding a super freighter thats better than the rhineland one

There is not a patch like you are talking about, there is a server patch if you wanted to start a server but that mainly fixes bugs and doesn't add to the game. As for when is an expantion-like patch coming out? Don't hold your breath.

If I had a nickel for every time someone told me that my idea for melting down coins to make a giant robotic parrot was a bad idea, I would have one kicka$$ giant robotic parrot.

I don't think there will be a patch for a while since I remember Gibbius mentioning something about the DA team taking a long vacation after they finished the game.I think this is why we haven't seen a patch thus far although others have mentioned that it might be due to some parts of the world not shipping the game yet.

I'm sure for the time being if you look around you'll find some mods which do offer the following with regards to Battleship destroying missions but not any trade that I know of.

BTW, there is a super freighter in the game files but not in the game which is built by the Corsairs.

I've heard the patch should be very soon - my guess is that E3 and Brute Force took priority for a little while..

Is there any indication on what the patch may cover?

The next time someone asks if you're a god, say YES!

It should be interesting what they plan on implementing or finishing for that matter.I wonder if this means all mods will have to be re-done ?

This was posted on March 28th. Note the "4 weeks" ETA.

This is just a quick note to let you know that we have heard your cries about the server instability and rampant cheating in multiplayer Freelancer and are acting on them.
After spending some time analyzing the server crashes and cheating problems, we've started work on a server-only patch to focused on stability and anti-cheating measures. We have already improved the stability of the server and plugged the most popular cheats and should be ready for beta testing in a week or so.

We will be running a public server here at Digital Anvil for initial testing, then will work with the Freelancer server admin community to beta test the patch. We expect the patch to be tested and ready to go in about 4 weeks. We'll release more details as we approach beta.

I'm thinking the client patch would addd some more features to multiplayer gaming... instead of those new content.

Just a guess.

I'm really not bothered about a patch since for me the game runs great without crashing or any bugs However I'd love an expansion pack with more missions, ships, etc.
