Sorry, but I forgot the name. (sorry)

Anyway, call your surge protector company. many of them offer a *limited* refund on materials damaged by the failure of their products. If you have home-owner's insurance, that might also cover the cost, if you can provide proof of ownersip, and cost.

The last, and least likely to pay, Call up the power company. They might be held legally responsible.

Yep already on it I appreciate the info though as it is always nice to see people thinking of others.

My son owns a computer co. that does it all so I took it over to have him take a look. He called today apparently the system files are GONE! No trace of them so they will be looking at putting in HD and trying to boot from it then power up my old one and see what files still exsit.

My system is kinda old anyway so other than the data loss it may be a good time to upgrade from my old 750 and Voodo 5500 card to something faster and more modern.

Again thank you for taking the time to post helpful information for others who may have similar problems. And that is why you should buy the best surge protectors around and send in the warranty cards right away. Mine however is about 3 years old and may be out of that replacement stage but I will let my son look at it and see.

Just some thoughts from the edge of space!
