What ship does everyone need to try?

NOT THE STARFLIER!!!

What ships have a must-have flying experience?

I feel the Legionnaire is for it's great turning rate and you NEED to feel the frustration of losing a wing with guns on it. :p

My conviction is like an arrow in flight, your life will only last until it reaches you.

Humpback

Hmm...I think the Pirhana is a must-fly; simply because, more than any other ship, it'll actualy make ya feel like a bounty hunter.

Mule. That's one ship that REALLY makes ya feel like a pirate.

Hammerhead. The cream of the Bounty-Hunter Crop.

Patriot. C'mon, you know you want to...

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

Should try the dromedary...

see what you do if you are faced with 4 angry bounty hunter flying in Hammerheads.

Also try flying the sp campaing up till the Leeds with a Rhino..

I used only the rhino, clydisdale, dromadary and anubis for the campaign. I had some problems with the rhino and clydisdale in thick battles... The dromadary is a very fine ship! The only difficult place was in the race but it was possible.
After the campaign, i got myself a falcon, which is a very fine ship! I loved flying it. The next step was the Hammerhead; very good ship. I took multiples sabres and titans with it.
Then, after fighting my way where there was Corsairs and Outcasts, i don't know why but i killed more Outcasts so Corsairs became friendly Then i found a titan It really felt secure to fly it. My next step was the sabre because of the front firing turret. So i hacked my rep (after killing 50-60 sabres to reach the proper base...) and got myself a sabre. I don't know if i feel better in it; i think i prefer the titan. Next step is to go back to the dromadary !!! and make a few trade routes to make a little more cash (i'm down to less than 1000000 and it bugs me... I'll want to go up to 10,000,000$... After, i'll choose between eagle (i'll try it and see) and titan. Then i will fully explore all the maps

The Banshee since it is one of the best light fighters not to mention flying one in Rheinland space. It gets fun, especially going up against Bunschuh in Rheinland cruisers & Battleships{Re-balance mod}.

Also if it gets to rough,I resort to the eagle which is one heck of a ship in manueverability & quick strikes.

Fot those of you out there (you should not exist by the way) that has not yet flown the Eagle I urge you to go to Freeport 9 immediately and buy one. It is LOVELY.

The Dagger is also a very nice "fly-around-and-shine"-ship. It is outstanding when you've bought the best things you can put on it.

The Drake should also be flown for it's manouverability. Just like the Dagger, buy/obtain the best things it can carry and watch your enemies dissolve.

*edit* The Startracker. Come on, you know you want to */edit*

Imagine this; you are alone. In a Starflier. In Omega-41. How would YOU feel? Bad? Radiated? Like you've just been ran in a microwave oven for an hour?

Some ships have a little more cargo space than others, some turn a little better than others, some have a slightly better power plant, others have slightly heavier armour, or a better mount point for the rear turret.

But for every ship in the game there are other ships that fly pretty much the same. So if you have flown one of the light fighters, one of the heavy fighters, a freighter and a VHF, then you have flown them all. You could even fly all of them the same way and never know much difference.

Except for the Humpback. It is unique.

Imagine you are in a Starflier. You have two Justice Mk I, the class 1 graviton shield, 3 nanos and 3 batts. You also have a Zoners reputation and 1 million credits.

Your current location is planet Gammu.

Another vote for the Humpback. It has the most unique characteristics of any ship in Freelancer requiring a completely unique strategy.
