It's the secret Nomad Base where you can buy the Nomad Fighter as well as the Nomad weapons, shields, and thrusters. You can also fly missions for the Nomads. Just fly straight for it until you detect the docking bay. Ignore the sparks.

oh yeah, the "warning: entering solar corona" doesn't mean a thing, and when your hull indicator starts going down, that's just a bug. sorry, i think i'm sticking with the partially removed object idea.

There was indeed another post about it some days back, but it's just a small rock that emits radiation I believe.

Ohw and by the way. This is the object that has the rings, not the sun itself.
