LEVEL save bug or error?

I usually host a server for me and my friend to play on, but every time we exit, and the log back on, it makes us Level one again. We now managed to get level two ships, but it is very annoying, having to become more advanced in level every time we join my server. Any suggestions?

I believe you have to make the server dedicated. i.e. if you shut down the server, and then re-activate it, the character saves would have been deleted. Although if you want a better answer, you shoild visit the multiplayer forum.
