Money

Just had a quick question guys, I've been playing this thing for about 60 hours now and burned through the regular missions. I was reading some posts that tell about getting alot of money. I personally just did the "Shoot em up" missions and scrapped along on a pathetically small amount of cash. So what are your secrets to getting rich? Nothing quick and fancy, just casual gameplay. The only thing I can figure, and I didn't do much of it, is grabbing a freighter and and mugging the large cargo ships. I suppose if you really get geeky with this, one could make a listing of the best commodity exchanges that make the most money. Just wanted some 'professional' opinions.

Thanks guys,
Grim~

I get a freighter n do trade runs, find a planet/base that sells a comodity at its lowest price (theres a list after comodity description), buy as much as u can, then find where you could sell it highest and go there n sell the stuff, cha ch$ng

Two good, legal, trade routes that I like are the diamond run and the niobium run. Buy diamons from the Bautzen station in Dresden (about $320 per unit) and sell them on Planet Leeds, Leeds (for $1275), then buy niobium from the Holman Outpost in Tau 31 ($290?) and sell on Leipzig Station in Dresden ($1600). This return run can net over half a million credits in the bigger freighters, but it is a long trip.
Also, some of the outer systems pay up to $25,000 for the random missions, but the tend to be quite hard.

Well, when I played the SP story, I found the three wrecks in the Manhattan system before I had to "run" from it. If you use that money that you get from selling the stuff from the wrecks wisely, then you will be set for the rest of the game. After the SP story I just went around finding everything I could and doing some occasional missions here and there. THEN I traded for a while to get a bunch of money, and now I am where most people are........have the best stuff with a ton of money.

-Why is Bra singular and Panties plural?
-If your plan is having no plan, do you have a plan?
-Don't you find it worrying that doctors call treating you their "practice" ?

if you go to the right systems then you find level 35 missions (you have to be of similar level to get them tho) these will give you quite some cash, not only from the guy paying you but also from the corpses that you ransack for goods. a good idea is also to go into enemy turf and kill the lot. you'll get millions of guns/missiles/mines/ammo/goods/etc to sell. you might also go look for every wreck and sell that what you dont need. ive been doing that and now i have more money than god (well not really but enough for my personal use)

Great replys! Thanks for the advice. I was poking around last night, and found the diamond run to planet Leeds one of the more profitable ones. Thanks again for all your input. Gotta love this game!

Sell your diamonds on New Tokyo for $1600. Try mining them yourself in Dresden, take the jumphole to Frankfurt and then tradelanes through Sigma 13 and Honshu to New Tokyo system. .... only four systems away. Some mineable asteroid fields yield more than others, In Dresden go to where the mining ships are and shoot the small rocks, sit still and turn all around while shooting as many rocks as possible and tractor them into your cargo hold. If you're good you can fill up a Transport in about half an hour. -The Hessians tend to stay away from the mining ships so it's safest there.

i once bought mining machinery on berlin and went to the tripoli shipyards to sell em.. quite a good deal but having chased by hessians and fliyng int the ever so heavy humpback gives me a great disadvantage and got blew up to pieces easily.. even with level 7 gravitron sheilds... sheesh
I once tried to collect the artifacts at an unknown jumphole in omicron gamma and got 3 nomad laser hits and instanteneously died.. i slept after that.. no more.. its too cruel to go in the border worlds with humpback..

argh.. im never gonna get paid.. goodbye a million credits..

Trade!

I personally like the freighters, and try to find myself a nice trade route.

Manhattan - Pittsburg was nice, for a start!

I flew most missions in a Rhino (i just love 'em)! :p

Another easy and fast way to get cash is to smuggle cardamine from Mactan Base, Magellan, to Mahnhattan. You´ll get about 700$ per unit, and it´s only 1 jump. On the return run, take light weapons back to Mactan. Makes sense when using a freighter like the Dromedary, if you have the starting capital to buy on payload.

This will make you a million in about 30 minutes if you do it right.

From Manhattan > LD-14--LD-14>Hood--Hood>Planet Berlin--Berlin>Planet Tokyo repeat. The commodities in question will be obvious at each destination but note that LD-14>Hood is a perishable cargo of MOX and does now yeild much profit but since you are headed there anyways might as well take something to sell.Use the jump holes to lose as little as possible.I made the run only losing 1.In a little over an hour I made 1,800,00 roughly. This was in SP, I dont play MP after reading the forums on cheaters DS was a bad enough experience in microsoft MP.This is a legitimate route requiring no mods, I used a humpback.Hope this helps, good luck.

By far the best trade route in single player: cardimine from Yanagi (Sig-13) to Planet Berlin 849 profit, enging components Berlin - Yanagi 299 profit. 1 jump hole and half a trade lane, you can do the return journey in 3½ minutes. Up to 5 million per hour in a dromedary (although you get bored after a while). If you are scanned by police, there is always time to dock before being caught.

After I finished the game and was back on Manhatten i read the news and it said that there was a famous artist captired by the rouges or somting and that they demand 1 million credits for his release. The money was to be left in the Pittsberg Debris Field i spent an hour looking for it but i cudnt find it cus it is so big. Was wondering if it actualy exists or if anybody else has found it?

Try getting alien organisms at Ruiz Base in Omicron Beta for $100 and selling at California Minor for $2000. The most profitable trade per unit in the whole game. It's a perishable commmodity so you'll lose about 15 of them in transit, but a Dromedary would be able to retain about 260 of them, that's $520,000 worth of cargo while spending only $27,500 for it.

Its all about the pirate. Get as many people as you can and have them follow you out. Shoot a train-and only a train-and let everybody get the wealth. Then go and sell them and make everyone give you like 25%. IF they dont want to, well then break out the Nomads.

Its only illegal if you get caught
