Wow, only 1 person has mention Mactan Base. There's where I'm stationed now. I love it because its an independant system, so no police to get in my way, pirate the trade lane 12k away, pick up engine components from the unfortunate transports, fly 12k back to Mactan, and then in my Slave I get nearly $500,000 on it. That's quite the life for me!
One place would not like to go would be Dublin. Sure you can mine gold there, but there's only one jump hole in or out, and it's too close to Battleship (Suffolk, is it?) for my comfort. And plus, the only refuge for a pirate like me is the molly's, who for some insane reason put mines all around thier base. Um, no thanks, ill just stay away.

i would build a base so big it can generate gravity the equivalent to a gas giant and create an artificial atmosphere around its surface so anyone that came near would get suck towards it and burned in the atmosphere... i'll figure out how i'll get into it later

I would live on Cali base, because its remote enough for my tastes, but also close enough to the Tau systems and Kusari space, my favorite areas of the game in terms of visuals. I would have an "office" on kyoto, sort of a home away from home, for extended work against the kusari government (how can you NOT sympathize with the GC? or the Blood Dragons, if we take into account spoiler-laden-single player missions and their events into consideration?)

Id live on Planet New Tokyo. why? lets face it, here now or in the game the japanese are still the most advanced and best fighters around. id love to live in japan, so therefore id love to live in kusari.

the gamma unknown system seems the ideal choice, just use a very large emp on the snowy planet then send some colonests, i would call the system MinySystem
