I can only hope that some people that have previously posted here stating that "you don't matter, you're not a programmer, you don't work for Digital Anvil or Microsoft so don't have a say" wake up and get a clue. I say statements like that are BS. One thing that makes or breaks a business - big or small - is the power of the consumer. That's the whole idea for patches, add ons, and sequels. We ask for, we suggest, we want, we demand and in some way the corporations listen and provide. Is there going to be an add on for Freelancer? In my opinion, yes. The beta version was 3 CD's. The retail version is a paltry 1. That's a HUGE chopping of game content. Why? Because Microsoft has been in the business for decades and knows that we will want more. Thus, providing us with expansions based on OUR ideas and wants in the game. And we even get to pay more money for it, too! Exactly what they want us to do. This all has to do with many factors, though. Game sales, margin of profit vs development cost, consumer enthusiasm, and demographic success. We, as consumers, have to let Microsoft know - "If you build it, we will buy." So, keep posting your ideas and wants and needs. If you think that developers don't read forum sites like lancersreactor, think again. How many times have you read in the news that some corporation is targeting web sites with copyrighted material and requests the Moderators to remove said content? Yes, they are watching the web and probably reading this right now. This is a free gold mine of information and public opinion that they can use to get a scope on what the consumers collaborativly think of their products. And if they have any inkling of foresight and knowledge, they will use these opinions and ideas and incorporate them into future products. Happy consumers spend money and that equals a happy corporation!
