Are Higher-level Tacheyon stats misleading?

Anyone else notice this? My experiences has been the higher-level Tacheyon guns ( Class 6+ ) fire lower-velocity projectiles than the lower level ones ( Class 4 and 5 ).

I mean, the Class 4 and Class 5 wepons ( like the Ripper, Adv. Ripper or Hellfury Mk I, Mk II series ) are very agile and accurate, as you would expect of something rated only slightly slower than lasers. You lead the shot properly, it gets there. When you move on to the Class 6 and higher versions, the shot changes from the distinctive stream of perpendicular rings in a parallel line. It now looks like a burst of energy, and compared to the other weapons the shot travels slightly slower.

When I add a Hellfury Mk III ( Class 6 ) to the Class 4/5 mix, the timing is off. Why is that? It's Tacheyon, 700/700, same fire rate. All Tach weapons Class 6 and higher have this sluggish aspect, but it's not reflected in the weapon stats. How the hell are we supposed to match weapon setups by the stats if the stats are misleading?

I'm NOT imagining this. You try mixing Class 4 and 5 Tacheyons, it works fine. You try mixing Class 5 and 6, it's terrible.
