some newbie questions

been playing the game for all of 2 days, so any help would be appreciated:

I'm finding trading a bit arsy to do, and don't seem to make much in the way of cash, so have resorted to blowing away rogues to sell dropped cargo, or taking on jobs (usually police/navy ones). Of course, unfortunately this means I've become a right goodie-two-shoes, and any pirates try to blow the crap out of me (even disrupting trade lanes as I pass). Whats the best way to remedy this?

I wanted to do some piracy myself, but only find freighters near bases, where police are crawling all over. Can i disrupt trade lanes by some means? I tried shooting them but it didn't seem to do much.

How do i find all the bases and stuff that aren't at the end of trade lanes (rogue bases, science stations or whatever)? Once you've found them, do they appear on your map?

I went looking for some wrecks in the cool blue nebula place at the south of the New York system near the Ithaca research station, but couldn't find them. A mate told me they were there, is he bull****ting me?

..oh, and why do i seem to have a slightly negative rep with some groups thats I've only just met? And why the hell do the Bounty Hunters dislike me? I haven't done anything to them (except maybe steal some of their kills)

Better trade routes will become available as you get further in the game.

You can fix your rep with rougues and criminals by killing police until they are neutral, then docking and taking a bribe.

There ARE wrecks in the "Badlands", but you'll want to check the spoiler forum for them.

During the SP game, you cant find any real good trade routes. Most of the trade routes go from one faction to another, and in the sp, you cant go back to the sectors of space you came from. (example: youre chased out of liberty, and the gates are locked to you; they are reopened after you finish the sp campaign.)
