Lane Hackers & Reputation

I'm trying to get to the Mactane Base to get a Dromedary. So I need to make friends. I see no way of getting a reputation boost by bribing someone (never met a lane hacker on a planet), so who are their enemies and allies? (I'm at work and just thinking of different aspects of FL in the downtime.).

Silly you. The best way to get friendly with a lane hacker is to lane hack.

On the plus side, once you get on the good side of the hackers, the rougues and outcasts become neutral as well, allowing you to explore their territories(not as if the rougues pose any threat anyway...)

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

i've got a problem where i've decided i wanted in join the rogues. I laucnhed off new york without accepting ajob, aand flew into rogue space. They're STILL after me, even though i didn't do anything to them.

So i fgure i'd head back to new york and try and attack their storage depot. But after about 30 seconds, all the police in the area are after me, and after a fierce firefight, my rep with them is still high in the green? How can this be? Also, the roges are still high in red? No change in the reputation bars?

Any tips?

Depends what you mean by 'fierce firefight'.

Even though your rep with a bunch of them went red this is only till you run away/swith systems (think of is as being drunk and getting chucked out of a club... everyone is after you at the time but you can go back the next day).

Only by actually finishing off a ship of a faction (or one of their allies) will you lower your rep with them (like getting barred from said hypothetical club)

You have to kill alot of police to get your rep with them to go red cause it starts so high. Like 100's. Happy hunting.

If you're neutral or better with Blood Dragons, Golden C, Rogues or Outcasts, you can normally get into the Lane HAcker's good books.
E.g. do missions for Blood Dragons, improve rep with Golden C, do missions for Golden C and improve rep with Outcasts, improve rep with Outcasts and your well on your way to being friendly with the Lane hackers. It can all be dojne in a round about way.
If you cant be bothered, go out and start killing House Police, Navy or Bounty Hunters, that always impresses the piratey type, YARRR!!

I did my rep the old fashioned way I bribed the Junkers. They are not freindly to anyone but all the factions will visit a Junker base for something or another. You do have to hunt around a while to find the right source for your money to do the job, but it can be done.

I am currently in favor with ALL the factions. Some are just barely nuetral and I still get jumped while leaving their bases for my goods once in a while, but they have some pretty cool weapons for the next time I play through SP with a lesser ship.

While I really don't NEED anything from them (Max level, Titan, Nomad Weapons), it is still fun to see the different systems and find all that is there.

Just some thoughts from the edge of space!

I was already in good standing with the Blood Dragons and barely neutral with GC so I went in search of the GC base. Was a pain to find. Had to fly all around that system to find it. Did a mission or two for them, then bribed. But me in good standing with them, improved standing with Outcasts and Lane Hackers (my ultimate goal). I was about to go find the Outcasts base, but if I do a few more GC missions I'll probably be neutral with the Hackers and can land on their base.
