Of course you can. You just need some powerful guns, continue to shoot at a station for roughly half a day, and you can see it starts to blow up part by part. Sometimes they drop great stuff like level 10 shields. Just be patient!

You do get to blow up a few Battleships ( get recorded as such )

Mission 3 ( fleeing Liberty Space ) there is one battleship and a few cruisers.. though you have to lucky as sin to survive with the crappy ship and guns you have at that point in the game

Theres also the Rhineland Battleship later in the game when you get ambushed.

Not sure if the Nomad Battleships count..

There's mods that let you do that, ya know.

except the one you destory in the ship yard for some bizarre reason
