Can i import demo save games into full retail version?

Having played the demo for quite some time, and still not owning the full retail version yet, is it possible to import (by copy and pasting) my demo save games into a folder of Freelancer?

Or does the singleplayer retail game not recognise the demo files?

You can't. It will play, but you can't get past level 2., or so I've heard.

i've bought the full game today. I shall try and play the whole thing from scratch if my demo saves keep crashing the game so that it can't proceed past level 2..

Where exactly are the savegame files anyway? I'm probably being blind not seeing them
