Do you mean how do you find battleships to dock with to buy the good miliary ships?

A good number of them will be positioned along popular trade routes, near trade lanes. Some ... are positioned in other areas that you will just stumble across, while looking for other things.... BattleShip Hood for instance I can't remember if it was right near a trade lane or if I just was like "hey wtf is that object in the distance?"
