Missles

Hello all,

Really a simple question here, love the game, but I cant hit the side of a barn with missles, it is frustrating the heck out of me. Could anyone give me some pointers so I can actually hit somthing? Thanks in advance

I got one, don't use missles.

If I had a nickel for every time someone told me that my idea of building a giant robotic parrot out of melted down coins was a bad idea, I would have one kick a$$ giant robotic parrot.

Wow...not really the answer I was looking for, are you saying they suck in FL, or are you just being incredibly helpful? =P

They suck.
I am sure someone will reply saying that they are great, and how they can kill X much faster, but they are not. They Suck.

they can be usefull if your enemy is coming straight twards you... but I tend to stay away from them.

I have to agree with these guys. I don't even have missles in my loadout. I prefer a shield depleting weapon (Tizona del Cid) and a mix of Diamondbacks, Wildfires and Nomad Cannons. Good refire rates and good damage that never runs out of ammo.

I been using Catapult missiles (just in reserves for when I really need them)

Since I have two launchers in my loadout it will waste two missiles when I miss.
The thing I found with missiles, is you have to pay attention to the turn rate in the weapon stats.

Some angles of attack are better then others. First pass of an attack they are coming straight at you.... good time for a missile. If you can get turned before they've completed their initial pass so that you can get a shot while they are facing the oposite direction... also a good time for a missile..

When being engaged by a large force .... (like when you decide to start attacking the wrong people right near a jump gate or trade lane)
They are a nice way to soften up all the ships that are basically just standing still while your dogfighting an individual ship.
Example would be when you are fighting a group with a drone frieghter or two present, the drones with basically sit motionless and just blaze away while your engaged with what ever fighter escort they have.... So it's easy to pop off a missile or two at those stationary targets while still engaged with your current target.

Just MHO.
