Finding Hidden Wrecks

How do you find hidden wrecks? I know at this site it tells you what system and sector they are in, but the sectors are sooo big? Any tips?

fly around the sector and zoom in on the nav map, if you get close a red X will appear at the wreck

You can also learn about wrecks through bar conversations. I've seen cases where some wrecks were mentioned as either rumors or information available for sale.

Go to your starmap, change map so you see the patrol routes. Look for the lines that meet together. If there are at least 3 or more lines that meet, there is almost always a base or jumphole. Im not sure how you find patrol routes...i just fly around the system and they appear on their own

wrecks != bases

Most wrecks are the result of, attacks by bandits or the ship getting caught up in a gravitational, or radiation field.

When you are flying around put your scanner on the lower left onto the far right Icon for everything.

Every once in a while hit your F6 key and when the map pops up check to see if a red X has appeared indicating a wreck. Keep in mind about what I said before, there is a reason they are there!

The bars as someone mentioned is also a good resorce to find them listen and learn. Also look around the bases of those less friendly to the mainstream people.

In a word Explore, Explore, Explore! Asteroid fields, gas clouds, mine fields, etc.

Don't forget to have fun while you are at it!

Just some observations from the edge of space!

And be careful not to fly too far from 'center system'. If you're too high or too low, it won't come up on your map. Most everything comes in scanned at about 5.5K distance... which isn't that far (in space).
