Loving MP, should I bother with SP???

Ok, i've owned FL for three days and I jumped right into multiplayer and am have a blast. My question is should I even bother to play the single player campaign? My feeling is that it will better aqaint me with the many "groups" or guilds in the game so that I can better choose my MP alliances. LMK what you think. What will I gain from SP that I can't from MP?

Why don't you just try it?

The single-player missions are far more in-depth and detailed than the randomly generated MP ones, and are a lot of fun. Of course, it doesn't have nearly as much replay value as MP, but it's still worth playing through it once.

You bought the game didn't you? Why not try it then? Kindda waste of money IMO, if you don't try all the values of the game. And yes, I consider SP as being a value

The SP story is quite short but fun. I suggest trying it out.

I came. I saw. I conquered. And sometimes get conquered.

You must play the single player campaign, just to get a look if anything

No.

Story-wise, a smacked-up Polar Bear could come up with a plot better than the mediocre "Oh Look Mr. Trent! An alien artifact! Perhaps it's a buttplug?" Bleh.

There's nothing new to see really that differs in any way from MP, at least in a fairly significant manner.

Trent looks like a young Nick Nolte on crack, which is hardly a difficult image to picture. Juni has the nicest rear-end this side of Mars, but aside from that there's nothing else that deserves mentioning.

The Anubis is fun, but easily outclassed by some ships, like the Eagle.

Don't bother.

Depends on what you like. In sp you will be flying scripted missions against ai opponents. You will learn of some factions, but definiately not all, and some factions can change without your input. Can't go to far into it without making it a spoiler. But it is fairly challenging. I quite enjoyed the sp game. If my connection was better, I could probably better enjoy mp to. hehe

Other than the story line and satisfaction of whuping some nomad butt, the sp game really does not offer much more than the mp game does.

Stoned the Anubis is there for a reason. The reason, to give you the best survival chance for that part of the game. You can't get an Eagle till you FINISH the SPC.
Trent = SJA w/ NC
Still lets see you make a better plot. Sure it's guessable at times but remember PROFESSIONALS did this and you I doubt are a Professional so pwned thx gg no re.

Let me first say that, though that happened to be my first post on this site, that does not in any way make me some kind of easily exploitable noob, which is most likely what you assumed given the arrogance of your response.

Now, with that out of the way, yes, there is a reason the Anubis is there. And, yes, the Eagle isn't accessible until the closing of the game. Nevertheless, I fail to see how that detracts from my point that the ship, despite it's much-heralded arrival in the SP, is a bit of a disappointment.

As for the plot, it still does stink. Horribly. And, please tell me I'm wrong when I make this assumption, but do you honestly believe that you have to be a "professional" to write a plot and/or premise? Please, for the sake of the tiny bit a respect I have left for you, tell me that you were tripping on something when you made that comment. And what, exactly, makes a "professional"? A professional at what? Writing? Anyone with half of a monkey brain can tell you that you don't need a "Certified License to Write Creative Fiction" to come up with a decent plot, or put together a idea on paper.
