Cargo Scanning

Hello all,
I know that this is probally a technical issue but..
Perhaps I am just anal, but does the speach of the liberty police when they scan your cargo seem to be cutting off in the middle. I other words she/he says "alfa-one dash one t.. freelancer yada yada you will submit to a cargo scan" it cuts out a little in the middle...is it my sould card or the program itself? If you are paying attention, do you notice this too?
Sincerely Anal NazgulAdam

I think he/she says "Alpha-one dash one TO freelancer yada yada you will submit to a cargo scan"

i dunno why the "to" appearsto be cut but that's the way they made it i guess.. the same happens on mine

the computer is patching sound files together for the "random dialogue" effect. Sorta works like this:

"This is <system variable> to <faction name variable> <ship name variable>; I'm scanning your cargo hold."

The glip you are hearing is when the computer is inserting <Freelancer> <Alpha One Dash One> instead of another ship in the area. You hear the same thing for other ships in the area being scanned: "This is <Liberty Police> to <Junkers> <4 Dash Gamma>, I'm scanning your cargo hold." Same for "random comm chatter": "I sure hope our load of <cargo variable> fetches a good price."

The audio engine does tend to clip the edges of the inserts. Nothing is wrong with your sound card or system.

[One suspect for me is the "F" in "Freelancer"; it is drawn-out, probably to get a better recording of it without windtunneling the mic or sounding scratchy or spitty. The "to" dialogue is also pitched wrong for this type of insertion; it ends on a falling tone when it should be level with the preceeding "Liberty Police," indicating it was recorded as a solo sound event or by a speaker with a different voiceprint. Chalk it up to sloppy audio programming.
