Alliances Excel file

I'm a bit confused about this file.

Match Lane Hackers w/ Lane Hackers and you end up with +0.1000. This seems to say that by killing Hackers you gain rep. w/ Hackers.

I think either the database has not been described properly, or the values in it do not properly reflect what happens w/ various kills. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I'm interpreting from the data presented.

I think most of it is correct, but there seem to be some glitches?

Edit: I've killed about 50 Xenos, and my rep w/ lane hackers has hardly budged. Methinks this is NOT the way to go. Granted, the kills were all in Colorado, but still... they're kills.

Next Edit: Colorado Xenos are NOT the way to get friendly w/ Lane Hackers. What a waste of f'n time. Hackers don't really care about those Xenos. Maybe they care about other Xenos, but not those.....

Having a rummage around the various FL files, i figure the dude that came up with the alliances spreadsheet got his data from there. So I figure this is how it works:

+1.0000 means u r on chummy terms with the faction.
-1.0000 means the faction r gonna got outa their way nuke ya ass.
and I think neutral is between -0.4000 to +0.4000 (but someone is gonna have to back me up on this one)

The lil' numbers that each faction adds/subtracts moves your alliance up or down towards +1.0000 or -1.0000. So if u wanna become buddies with the hackers, u r gonna have to get offside with some more dudes. The Xenos only upset the Hackers by -0.1000 (which means u get +0.1000 towards you).

killing xenos (yes, even in colorado) does affect the reputation u have with the hackers.
yet because its influence is rather small, u have to shoot alot of them.

i usually kill about 300 of them in colorado at their base to push my reps

The alliance to alliance number is a multiplier. It multiplies the # in one of the first columns, the ones based on what you do.

So for example killing a Lane Hacker is a negative number. That impacts your rep with the Lane Hackers by (number) * (multiplier) so of course it's +1.
