Turret view - whats the point!

When I go into turret view it just looks the same as default view. I was hoping to see from a turrent, especially a rear one so I could head to where I was going and fight the buggers that sit behind you where you can't see them - in a freighter.

Is it possible to get a real turret view?

When you press h for turret view, you have to press space bar afterwords to "fly" around your ship.

Yes, there is a real turret view..(follow what is said, press h, press space bar)

you want to join formation with another ship if you are fighting using turrets. That way, your ship gets moving around randomly, and you shoot using your turret view..

What we do na?

It's also great for looking around when you're going somewhere that is a long distance away. Just hit goto, then use turret mode to look at the scenery while your autopilot takes you to your destination.

well, the cargo ships have turrets to fire at the enemy, its rather hard chassing them like a fighter, so you stop, go into turret mode and fire at them

I've found turret view to be quite valuable. In a Humpback freighter you go in straight lines very well but thats about it. I find it great to get the freighter on a 'goto' or 'dock' sequence and then use turret view to make life real hard for the raiders. Changed the turrets around so the strongest are aft, or aft able and then have a ball. Where I was using must if not all batteries and some nanobots I now don't need to use any.

Yes, the Turret view has one good use only:

The Humpback.

If you load up the Humpback with a bunch of Sunblast A cannons and turrets, you've got a formidable killing machine. You want weapons that are FAST, so it's either Photon or Laser-based weapons ( and Photon weapons are by far the better pick ).

Just force your enemies to trail you, hit the H key to go into turret view, then just bring the guns to bear as if you were attacking them normally. Your turret view will maneuver around similarly to the way you maneuver the ship while in regular combat.

Try going Xenos hunting in a Humpback, it's a kick
