Ship Eq?

Got some error the last time I tried to post this, so sorry if its a repeat.
When you get extra ship eq how to you fit it on your ship? That is w/o selling it and buying it back with a slot to fit it to? Plz tell!

In the upper left corner of the picture of the gun, you will see 2 bright blue pieces. Click on that. If you have a slot that is open and can hold it, it will become equipped. Do the same to unequip it without having to sell it.
