Is anyone else disappointed with the graphics?

I like the graphics myself, nice to get 'em running on full detail with no slowdown or ****ing! And you really get a feel of being in space sometimes....

I say sometimes, when you are next to a planet on its own, it could just be a football/soccer ball in front of your eyes, but once some stations and ships are added it looks great...

As for ship design, they generally look OK, of course everyone has there own ideas on what looks great. Personally I would have liked to see the varied of ships that FFE had, but maybe they are there (I haven't had chance to play as much as I would like as yet...)

Although I suppose you don't need the sleek lines that some FFE ships had, doesn't help much in space...

I hadn't thought of it that way. The low count does make the framerate faster and the game more stable. I don't have the highest end machine and I can switch back and forth into Windows and check the rates for terraforming gas or whatever. That almost makes it worth it!

I think the graphics are kickin as far as the galaxys go. The only lag I get is coming out of jump gates!! Otherwise I am very impressed!! I'm running the game at 1024-768 with all the settings on high. This is on AMD Athlon 1600 W G-Force Ti4200. AMD kicks pentiums butt as far as games go!!!
