Long screenshot. Real long.

This is a first try with this method of taking screenshots
in this game. It worked, but the location is just down right
dull. But it did make a nice three foot long screen shot.
I reduced it down a bit to lower the file size.
I may try this again in a better location.

Uh, guys it's three feet long, or at least the original was. It is a composite of five or six screenshots. I can go all the way around if you like. Forgive me if everyone is doing this, I just rarely see panoramic screenshots.

Y would some one make a 3foot long screenshot???

Post Sun Apr 13, 2003 1:58 am

Boy this is a fun place. Can you do it? I did a bunch of these for a Ghost Recon site and the people at Ubi Soft liked them. I also do panoramics with real photos (check my web site). I won't bother ya'll with them anymore.

Obviously to have 360 degree panorama view of a system...

Nice... Too bad there's not much to look at in this game except for the pretty background.

Post Sun Apr 13, 2003 4:21 am

Nice job, mind it if I use it for further edit?

Post Sun Apr 13, 2003 5:18 am

that does look pretty nice, you should do some with more.. stuff in it, like a station or something.

I did this one as a shake down. This is tricky to do and I just wanted to try it. It did take a bit of work. I had to do some editing to get rid of the cursor and other things. I may try it again in a more interesting spot. And yes you can edit it if you like.

thx holliday, you saved me alot work
ok lets see what I can do withit if I play abit arround ... should be nice background for a banner pic.

Still not happy without, something is missing, I guess I will need another shot of the carrier for better results.

lol i didnt recognize the reliant in there at first.... then saw the distinctive stick-on fighter bays...

but apocalypse i think you shoulda used the Yamato... totally a cooler carrier....

but good job, it would be nice to see a 360 panoramic of say, i dunno, i remember honshu as being pretty, and then 360 ^ 3, so u can put it on a sphere (all you lucky fools with 3dsmax get to work) and then you could look at the system from the outside, but you'd be looking actually from the inside.

Remember, on a scale of 1 to Awesome, I'm Totally Great

well, its on purpose an old carrier, has its own long story

to make it short, a yamoto would have been original to heavy for the experimentel long range warp engine

and later, lets say, the ship meet someone with ... uhm nice extra stuff
hehe well, Schattenengel means in english Shadow Angels

ah to get back on topic, you could use a panorama 360 shot in max (or any other 3d app) aswell as texture map for the background ... than you would have the whole system as background grafik.
though you could instead aswell use direkt the background textures of the system
sounds somehow easier ^_^

Well now that I understand what you did, that is really cool. You should do it for the more scenic systems (can't think of anything especially great off the top of my head, but I know there are some that would be excellent.) Nice work
