1st person view?

I say on screens that you can be in first person view, how can you do that?

You have third person view, where the camera is situated behind the ship. In first person the camera is situated in the ship.

*sigh* Check your key configurations, I'm not going to hand out easy answers like that anymore.

First person in Freelancer would be your cockpit view. Default key configuration is CNTL-V to toggle between cockpit and chase views.

While in the cockpit view, is it possible to look in any other direction besides foreward? I'd use this view more often if I could look left and right from inside the cockpit.

No, only straight forward. To look around you have to use the turret view.

That's what I thought. Oh well, just things we must live with.

Uh... there's always the rear view (V). Much more useful than the turret view in combat.
