Jump Hole Acess Denied

I have found this at least twice, when I try to dock with a jump hole, it says acess denied. How is this possible? I could see it if it was owned by a faction that was hostile to me, but I thought that jumpholes simply existed, and could be used by anyone at anytime. The only time I heard of a jumphole being out of alignment was in one of the SP missions, where it had a timer counting down until jumphole collapse.
Has anyone else run into this? Does anyone have an explanation for it?

yah... some jump holes go to parts of the game that are story based or aligned, so the game restircts you from going until the story permits...

It depends. If you're playing the demo, then it's because the new areas just aren't coded into the game. But if you're playing the full game, then...what Flak Cannon said.

If you've finished the single player game the Tohoku and Alaska are inaccessible.

you can get to alaska after sp campaign, I did it last weekend at 4 o'clock in the morning..at least I think it was alaska, it WAS 4:00am....its in between kusari and liberty, its rather boring...o.O

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I found theses acess denied jumpholes while playing MP.

Ya they disable many of jumpholes in MP. Even the Jumpgate from newyork to magellan is disabled.

Then why is it I can't use the jump hole to Dublin from Leeds?
Finished mission 5, cooling my heels until mission 6.
