Autopilot !
Having set up a route, there should be an auto-pilot that just follows the plotted course. It is a real pain always selecting the next "trade lane"/"jump gate" and then dock.

The route planner:
SHOULD NOT plan routes through unknown/unexplored space
SHOULD use known jump holes when calculating a route

good point, I found it tedious to manuelly dock and goto all the time too, auto pilot would be really useful, I can just press escape to go manuel if I get jumped by pirates

also they should be a Previous Waypoint key, cos accessing the map to plot waypoints again is really slow, especially when I'm running away

Oh, I forgot something.

When I am on a mission, the route automatically updates itself depending on where I am, e.g. next trade lane gate after getting hacked, etc.

The player routing should be dynamic too.
