GIANT torps

who would like to see GIANT torps like they had in SL, you know the ones that were on the ships and they launched like 4, and you had to shoot them down, Id love to have a cluster of those spread around on my titan and fire a torp the size of my ship...the photon torpedo looking torpedos in FL just dont do their destructive potential justice :/

I personally found FL's torpedoes to be pretty unimpressive - a small, simple projectile effect and a weak explosion turned me off to them until I realized how powerful they could be in duels. But having never played Starlancer, I guess I'm in no position to judge FL's.

In SL torps were the only things that could destroy capital ships, in FL a strafe from your class 10 guns do more damage.

I have to admit they did make the guns far to powerfull, the missiles and torps are pretty well much obsolete once you have a few lvl 10's hooked up.

Furthermore, torps are pretty much usless outside the SP campaign.

Well, there are always the anti-station missions. I like to take one of those missions where you only have to kill the station and not the ships around them. So all you do is, drop out of cruise around 2k from the target, start launching torps, finish it off with guns, and run. Of course, I usually do these missions with light fighters, which doesn't have torpedoes.

dont drop out of cruise, just hit z(engine kill if u twekaed ur config) and then a measly 50m/s turns into a jolting 350 m/s... same w/ missiles if u use them at all... afterburn a bit b4 firing and they have a hard time getting away, otherwise they can outrun them... 200m/s burn max, missiles at 99m/s+80m/s = only 179...

but 200m/s + 99m/s = 299m/s, > 200m/s burn max

does it really make the missle travel faster for the entire duration of the missile's life? if thats the case, i just might buy back my firestalker missile launcher's ...

i gave them up coz they couldnt seem to hit anyone in PVP .... people just kept afterburning away! ... mines are pretty damn useless tooo ... they do more good in killing yourself when your enemy thrusts right by you with 3 of your mines chasing him!

Silly me, never thought of using kill engine for that. I guess I just don't use torpedoes/missiles nearly enough.
