Trapped in a Station

Last night I was attacking a freighter and he was almost dead. However, he entered the docking queue at a station and was going through the doors. My VHF was significantly faster than him and somehow I followed him right into the docking port and the doors closed up behind my ship. Being it was an enemy base, I was not allowed to dock.

Now I'm stuck inside a small cube. Any way to get my ship out?

Wait until another ship docks in the port, then make a quick exit.

Or reload a previosly saved game...or blow yourself up with some missles or tops if you have them...

Have you ever witnessed the highly embarrassing death that occurs when your autopilot decides that the fastest way to dock is going *through* the station to the docking bay of choice? My poor friend wasn't aware that you could press esc to abort the docking process, and got dock-buffeted to death

That's gotta be right up there with leaving the computer and coming back to find yourself burned up in a planet's atmosphere

If you shoot the station enough times eventually the cops will start bombarding it, quite a sight seeing everyone pounding the crap out of newark station.

The worst possible is going through a trade land and going to get a drink, coming back and seeing your ship already inside the atmosphere as you scream "NOOOO" and try to hit reverse in time.

That is pretty funny -- I figured the cops would turn on *you* before attacking the station (but then again, my rep with the cops is not that good)

That tradelane scenario is pretty funny (in hindsight, mind you, and after you've managed to garner back all the lost resources) Have you ever flown too close to a sun's corona, panicked, and then weren't able to figure out which way led *away* from the corona due to all the haze? Maybe that's just me

We should start a thread on silly, embarrassing deaths

When in doubt, set a waypoint.

Technically they do attack you, but they make strafing runs on the stations trying to hit you inside the structure. Quite a sight amongst missile-armed enemies.

Yep been there done that whole sun corona deal. Watched in horror as my brand new Titan flew apart as I turned the wrong way! Torched Really good as the wings burst into flames and no amount of nanobots, or shield batts could fix it. As we say in my world warranty does not cover stupidity! I also flew into a formation out of frustration waiting at a jump gate with one of those mega train freighters that thing beat the bezesus out of my ship before I could dis-engage. Might makes right in that case and a bad case of brain fade didn't help matters either! I also set a way point thinking the plotting computer would go AROUND the planet between the points! Went to get a cold beverage and looked in horor as my computer was calling out "Warning entering planet atmosphere"! Heard from the other room ran back in time to see my ship blow up! Dumb,Dum...Dum...Dum...Dummmmmmmm. Just some thoughts from the edge of space.
