Break out of the Trade Lane?

Forgive me if the answer is obvious... But I can't seem to break out of a trade lane unless it is "disrupted." So... how do i do it? Please advise

Press ESC key while in the tradelane

OK, it's really difficult. You gotta follow these steps exactly .

1. Press esc.

Hope it's not too hard

The main reason I like that sig so much is because I have so many friends that would flip out trying to figure it out and it always makes me laugh to think about it. Thanks, Lieutenant Commander Data (just coincidence?)

Yes and no. The SN is inspired by Lt. Commander Data, but I'm more of a Star Wars and LOTR fan now than the Trekkie I was when I got the SN five years ago, but I like the name, so I keep using it everywhere anyway. The Lt. Commander part is just a coincidence, since I have over 170 (is that the magic number?) posts.
