Semi sort of poll

I notice that a lot of you have had a lot of hours with this game and still spend many more, but out of curiousity more than anything else, I'd like to know how and where.

So...
What do you play on?

- Single Player
- Multiplayer on Internet (server?)
- Multiplayer on LAN
- Host your own server and play on that

I still have not completed the SP missions, but that is because I spend the majority of my time on my own server that is running on the Internet (Come join it if you want, WapCaplet's Server). Me and a few of my buddies work together doing trade runs and stuff.

Otherwise, if I am not playing with them, I will poke around the SP a bit, doing the missions when I feel like it, but mostly exploring and doing random missions and stuff.

Multiplayer - Internet - 65%
Single Player - 35%

There you go!

Those are my thoughts, not yours, I'm WapCaplet[!

Multiplayer - 100%
I've never played anymore of the single player game than what was offered in the demo. Didn't like the level requirement for buying stuff. I run my own online server, and a few local friends keep me company.

I mostly stay away from the SP. Not that I don't like it, just that there are other aspects to the game I like better.

So most of my time is spent playing on a server on my local machine. When they're around I play with a couple friends who join me on the server and we mostly take missions and fly around shooting stuff. When they're not around I play with a different character and spend most of my time aimlessly wandering.

I think there are two real keys to my ability to sustain interest in the "lack of content" people complain about with FL.

1) I'm not in any rush. I take my time and I don't try to accomplish anything "as fast as I can". Yeah, you can potentially map every point in the entire game in short order, but not if you dawdle and take your time.

2) No spoilers. I think most of the people who complain about finding everything really quickly have actually achieved this through spoilers. Contrary to popular belief, not everything worth finding in the game is on a patrol path. So the only way you can find everything "in twenty hours" is via spoilers or having already found what you're "finding".

I'm playing SP only. Reason: the only servers i wanna play on are full 24/7

I'm 83 hours into the game and do not play it that much anymore, not because it's become boring , but because i spent way too much time with the game and wanna cut it back a little.

When i do i explore parts of space i haven't checked thoroughly yet, sweeping clouds for example. Other than that i pick up some fights in front of beautiful sceneries, do trade runs, do missions, all that usual stuff. Doesn't get boring for me.

I generally host a server on my lan and play on that, when I have a friend around, they'll play too.
Currently I'm just having a ball, seeing how many rouges I can attract at one time by strafing their bases.

I'm like Lev. I'm still playing SP, I've finished the story, now I'm exploring and amassing uberness for my ship. I love they way this game can be so many different things for you. It can be relaxing if you just wanna explore and look at the scenery or it can be exciting if you go pick on somebody's base or it can be adventurous to go explore systems you've never been in and wondering if someone who hates you is gonna show up and try to smear your molecules all over the next asteroid that goes by.
