What determines the ship you can buy?

Is it your level? Where you go? Both?

I am a noobie.

I could not find a new ship until I went to The British solar system. I was level 13 by then. THey had a pretty good ship there. I bought and outfitted it.

If I went up another 10 levels would the selection of ships change there? Or are they always the same?

Is it...The farther you get away from liberty the better ships that are available?

Ships are limited based on the following:

* Each Planet/Station has a limited variety of ships to offer. Some places may only sell one particular type of ship, others may sell two or three different ones. If you're having trouble finding new ships, follow the resourses on the main page of this site for info about which places sell which ship. Or, just do some more exploring.

* Some ships/equipment have level restrictions. These will appear grayed out, and when highlighted it will indicate that you are not of sufficient level.

* You can only buy a ship that you can afford.

That's it!
