I don't have the game yet because, in NL it's not out yet,...

But anyway,... are you neutral or friendly to those that own the jumpgate?

I have the game and in my experience the jump gates, while able to turn hostile and fire on you, don't actually deny you access.

well every jump gate that i try to take out of the liberty system wont let me through. I'm beginning to believe that its a bug but that cant be, all the other jump gates that are inside the liberty system that go to another sector, (ex. new york-california, etc.) work just fine. ahh!

In the single player game you aren't allowed through gates until the storyline unlocks them. You'll have to go do the missions that are waiting for you first.

At this stage of the game, you can only fly in the major systems in Liberty Space. If there's supposed to be a reason it's because you've only been given the codes for the jump gates that lead to systems adjacent to New York System...whatever....you can't use jump holes to get out of the three systems either, so don't bother trying. Instead, bear with it and get enough money to do more story missions until you get out of Liberty. I know it sucks, and it really does. So you cannot travel the galaxy until you get out of Liberty space under certain circumstances.

[by the way, you probably don't want to go to Kusari Space in any Liberty Ship anyway, because you'll probably end up getting crushed. The game universe is stratified. Difficulty settings and ship class are as follows in ascending order:

Liberty -> Bretonia -> Kusari -> Rheinland -> edgeworlds

so in the end, if you start in liberty and want to get a kusari ship, you probably wouldn't be able to due to class and money restrictions.

Oddly enough, I seemed to have summed up one of the really big issues that I really hate about this game...
