It has arrived!

Living as I do in the UK, I faced the choice of waiting months until Microsoft recognised the third largest games market in the world and released the damn game or buy a US import. No choice at all really.
Anyway it finally arrived this morning before I left for work and now I have to sit here wetting myself with anticipation. Sad, I know, but I had to share. I cannot wait.

Good for you. I hope you enjoy it. I have.

I came. I saw. I conquered. And sometimes get conquered.

3rd? I'm guessing the US is the largest but who is 2nd? Japan?

Hope you enjoy the game. Even after I finished the single player I kept going back for more over the next week to look around. Haven't tried multiplayer yet.

it's Australia, of course!

heh, I really enjoy freelancer. IMHO multiplayer is more fun, however.

No it´s Germany...here we have to wait till the 8th May untill the game is in stores finally....sad but true!!! But my U.S version is coming the next days and Iam REALLY looking forward to this game sonce the demo version was awsome!!!

Well, the game is everything expected and more. I couldn't turn the flipping thing off, it was a case of 'I'll just do this / go here/ kill that'. It was 2am before I could drag myself away - its been a long time since I've enjoyed a game that much. And I have yet to complete Mission 3.
And the article I read placed the largest game consumers as the US, Japan and then the UK, but I'm sure Germany can't be very far behind.

You guys are lucky. I still have to wait another 15 days if I'm lucky, before it is even released here in South Africa. I played the demo to death, total of 24 hours. It will probaby cost me more than a months savings to be able to buy the game here in South Africa. If I have to wait for the other South African sites that might give a bit discount I'll have to wait untill the 31st of May bofore I get the game.

I don´t know why, but Microsoft seems to not care too much about this "Who is the biggest game market" issue, since Freelancer is already available in Brasil (I received my copy yesterday).

For what its worth, I bought my copy through www.strategic-plus.co.uk for £40 +p&p. My copy arrived after about 3 working days and I think they ship all over Europe.
Hope this helps.

Johnnymecca, you should be pissed. A whole system devoted to the English, and not one has an English accent. Actually, I think all systems are populated by midwestern American people. Micro$, put a little more effort in voice talent.

F131 - please consider your tone! Also in the SP campaign you have more recognizable accents. FL allready features around 10 times more voice than any other game I know of...

Ah well, F131. Whoever pays the piper names the tune.....
To be honest its a good job they didn't even try to 'do' an English accent. 99% of Americans putting on an English accent sound like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins, "Cor Blimey, Strike a light" (in the 29 years I've lived in England I have never heard any one say that, unless of course they're taking the piss out Americans doing English accents). Most British accents in American games veer around the British Isles like a holiday tour coach - Scottish one minute, then a Cockney/Irish blend the next e.g Age of Kings. And did you see Keanu Reeves in Dracula?
I'm sure that the reverse applies and Limeys doing Yankee accents causes much mirth in the US. You have to put up with Catherine Zeta Jones / Kenneth Brannagh / Anthony Hopkins et al, drawling unconvincingly.
Anyway in space no can here you drop your H's.

Good point. Keanu Reeves in Dracula.....Ohhhh, the pain.

Bargig, I"ll be good.

And then there are us Canadians. Best of both worlds. Nice and close to the big, powerful Americans, yet still linked to our British bretheren with the Queen on our coins. And the best thing, we get all our games released at the same time as the States. Woohoo!!

On a totally unrelated topic (mostly), I just want to say that despite what my idiotic Prime Minister says, I totally support the US and British Armed Forces in the current Iraq conflict. Obviously I wish there were no war, but as it stands, I hope for a quick and peaceful resolution and the safe return of all American and British troops.

Ok, back to the topic. Freelancer is a great game. I think I will go play it some more.
