Destroying Battleships...just 1/2 the battle.

Anyone know the location of battleships that can be damaged/destroyed?

you cant damage any but you can shoot the guns off stations

in parts of the single player campaign you fight a battleship at times... i have 2 battleship kills so far, and only level 13...

You can kill gunboats too, which are battleships' younger siblings.

I'm just curious if you can kill the battleships AFTER completing the story. I tried atttacking the HOOD after the story ended. 20+ torps in it and not a scratch on her. Got blown to bits thereafter, but had saved before the attempt to see if it could be done.

I guess there are some that just won't take damage???

Nope, no battleships to kill post-SP.

None of the bases, battleships, planets have health indicators at all. They're completely invulnerable to your fire. The only exception are bases that you destroy for missions.

I know, this doesn't help you much, but I think the Battleships are too easy to kill. I wasted 6 of them during the SP and I really think it should be impossible for a single fighter. An eventual addon should bring battleships and cruisers to MP that require teamwork.

I would suggest an expansion that would have AI gunboats and cruisers and battleships flying around as well as fighters. Say, a gunboat would be defending each major base, with battleships guarding planets and cruisers at jumpgates. Those would actively pursue and engage any hostiles nearby, including you. Of course, all of those would be killable and respawn when you leave an area, or there would be nothing really good about it.

Reaper: $200,000,000.

Just yesterday in MP, I saw a Kusari naval gunboat flying around next to a jumphole.

It was very surprising.

(gunboats aren't all that tough anyway).

I dont think you can destroy weapons platforms in MP either. At least I never have been able to. They just get to zero health and stop shooting. Then their health comes back about 60 seconds later. Kind of disappointing.

When I was mining gold in dublin (near the BMM base), the Mollies destroyed the Weapon Platform I was hiding behind. It respawned after I had visited the station though.
