Any help with re-mapping mouse buttons...I wanna fire w/ left.
um....
I take it nobody tried hitting F1 ingame, going to options then going to controls?
On my comp I have mouse3 firing mines, mouse4 using nanos and mouse5 releasing counter-measures. I cant get the mousewheel itself to do anything though.
When you get to the control config screen, go to the action you want to perform, and click on the secondary fire box (it will prolly be empty). Then when the screen comes up asking what key you want to remap it to, you simply click the mouse button you want. If that mouse button is already assigned elsewhere, then click on OK and bang, you are done.

I've investigated the INI files Freelancer uses. Though it appears you can remap just about every key MOUSE1 is hardcoded to the point and click interface. Its not even mentioned in the INI configuration files. Other mouse buttons do appear in them as negative numbers. (ie - -2 for mouse2, -3 for mouse 3)
I use the Windows "Mouse Properties" feature to switch the two mouse buttons around. I find it far more comfortable to shoot guns with the left mouse button.
To do this in Windows, select Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel. In the Control Panel window, double-click "Mouse". The "Mouse Properties" dialog box will appear -- change "Right-landed" to "Left-handed".
If you need more help, let me know.
