How to deal with factions

I bought the game some days ago and am now lvl 16 doing the missions for the Blood dragons in the Singleplayer mission tree. Not that I am helping the Blood dragons most other parties in the various systems seem to hate me.

So my question is what would be the best way to handle this faction problem. I see a problem soon when i finish the next mission and I will have to get some cash again (which I usually do with trading). But trading will be kinda impossible if almost every station will deny landing. I know you can bribe some NPCs to improve faction with certain groups. But if I only have access to Dragons stations I wont have a chance to bribe anyone.

Is killing certain pirate groups a viable way to improve factions? The only "killmissions" I can get right now are tasks to kill people of the kusari navy. And this won't help my faction in any way.

As you will have noticed allready during the SP story, your status with factions gets regularly messed about by the story. Dont worry about it until you have finished the story, then decide and plan who you are going to be friends/enemies with.

If you click on a faction on the player status screen, it will list their friends and enemies.

How to deal with factions? Quite simple actually. Purple explained the key point to your thread but I'll go a bit farther into depth.

Completing SP is your first objective.

Secondly, you have to be aware also of who's friends with who, and who's hostile with who. In your player status area, like Purp said, you will see that.

Most importantly, its a good idea to pick one or two, maybe even three factions you don't personally like, waste their ships and do misions AGAINST them, and pretty soon you'll have a butt load of friends. I personally pick the Bounty hunders Guild, Hogosha, and the FA. This allows me to make friends with the BD's, and GCs. Then, I can do missions for the Kusari Navy and Police, against the Blood dragons and GCs. Once im about neutral with those two, I can go kill some more FAs and Hogoshas. This makes me 4 friends for the price of 1 enemy.

Learn to multi task repuation objectives. I can wail away on the BHG (Bounty Hunters Guild) and rack up good reputations with the LRs, Junkers, and any other criminal organisation. And for that matter, I get like 4-7 criminal friends for the price of 1 Bounty hunters guild hating me. Of course, its not possible for everyone to love you, but it is possible for everyone to not be hostile with you.

It takes a lot of thought, and it does require a lot of time, but in the end you'll have the most powerful and intriguing factions loving you so badly they wan't to polish your hull for free, and of course, you'll have those one or two lowly factions that are reletively worthless wanting to rip your hull panels off with their fingernails. So its entirely up to the individual which factions you want to be friends with. Simple. Organize your objectives and priorities, and then make the necessary reputation ajustments.
