Cambridge Jump Holes

I get to the point where after the cloakers kill the German battleship, and we kill the fighter wings, and we jump to the leeds system. I want to go back to Caimbridge, and I can't find the jump hole. There is a computer marker for it in Cambridge, but not one in leeds??! What is with that?? Also, why when the ship's nav comp rules best paths it won't disconnect from trade lanes or use jump holes??

In need of assistance,

It's a one way jump hole. You can only travel from Cambridge to Leeds but not vice versa.

I think the nav computer only uses jump gates for plotting the course because these routes are safer. I would have liked if one could choose between "jump gates only", "jumpholes only" or "use both".

There's no specific signal emminating from the jumpholes...the jumpgates on the other hand, they send out a specific signal that the nav computers around the various system can pick up on and use for navigation. A jumphole is probably seen as just another point of interest to the nav computer (only the nav computer though)

I thing asghiroa tech.(who ever) has to do something whit that, because they advice to avoid all jumpholes because the dangers are stil unkown, danger to the profit that is for sure.

AFAIK, the nav computer will take jumpholes only if there is no direct way to your destination via jump gates

Nope. When there is no jump gate connection the nav comp just says: "No best path" and refuses to plot a course.

Yeah right, noticed that, although the nav computer uses jumpholes to guide you to your next SP contact, e.g. to Kyoto Base - there is no jumpgate at all.

They programed it to do that for the SP missions.

You CAN use the hole from both sides, just record the sector and minor grids . Since the game is realistic, there must be a hole on the opposite side, and it is there, but it can only be found visually. It shows up as unknown object, and it stupidly won't show in your scanner unless you click it first. I'll give you the co-ords since you all have been helpful in your posting. Here goes: (in leeds) 6D (zoom in on lower-right corner) 6-3, D-3 . Hope that helps. I also have the Omega 3 2 Caimbridge coordinates, if you want them, e-mail me @ [email protected]

Which is actually is ['6' - 3 square; 'D' + 3 square ... You gave me the ultimate headache and more than an hour search...

On the side of the nav map, when you view leeds, there should be some markers - which have numbers or letters on them. That is what he will be referring to. Zoom in on the section he mentions, and the jumphole should be at the second set of coords.

OR

From memory, you need (on the big map of Cambridge) to look towards the bottom of the nav map, head south from the battleship, and it's somewhere around there
