Need help majorally

Ive been playing freelancer for about 7 hrs now...and im still level one!!! Ive completed 20 missions, and the oinly thing that i can think of that may be wrong is that i changed the name on the savegame folder (i played the demo to its limit) so could that be why i cant level at all? I have a net worth of 42000 and i really dont want to replay it to this far, but if i have to i will. CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE!!!

If your saying that you are using the saved game from the demo to play in the full version, then no you can't level up anymore. They way you level up was tweeked so that you play a little longer than normal. It will not work in the full version.

Hey don't feel too bad...those of us who had the beta had to do the same thing...Only now have I gotten my character in MP back to where he was in the beta..

Thanks all, i got the problem squared away right after i posted-i just went ahead and started a new character. level 7 now...more then i can say about my first attempt. Pardon my spelling, but i was typing late at night, not my best time mentally.
