Alaska?

I found the jumpgate to Alaska, but is there another way to get there beside the jump gate? I know that in most systems there is a parallel jump hole that will take you to the same system, is there one for Alaska?

I found it in multiplayer--it's locked. I've heard it's off-limits in the mp game--can anyone confirm?

I'd tell you more about it in SP mode, but that would be a spoiler.

The jump hole you found, or the jump gate in the mine field, i found the gate, but not the hole... And i am playing multiplayer...
